New Volunteer

CDN is a Christian-based organisation. We work alongside a wide range of community organisations, youth groups and churches and work with a huge variety of people regardless of background or belief. We have a broad range of programmes, and some of our roles require that you are actively engaged in your Christian faith to be a volunteer, while many of our programmes have no spiritual content at all and so some of our volunteer roles do not require you to have a faith yourself. We do require that CDN volunteers are respectful of our faith just as we are respectful of the beliefs of all our volunteers, young people and families. Virtually all of our roles require a police vetting check to be completed before you volunteer. We’re excited that you’re keen to be involved. Once we have your details, one of our youth workers will get in touch with you when there’s an event suitable for you to be involved in. If you haven’t been a volunteer with us before, we will need your consent to complete police vetting requirements.

Our next Kids Camp is Tuesday 7th - Sunday 12th January 2024 at Woodend Christian Camp.

If you’re signing up for your first Kids Camp, we’re looking for people of all gifting and abilities. If you’re super sporty or love to sit on the sidelines and have a good chat, if you love making people laugh or want to help people think about the spiritual life, as long as you put your trust in Jesus and have a calling to work with kids (even if it’s the first time) sign up. New leaders will have a meeting with CDN staff prior to camp.

This year we will be running a Teen Adventure Camp, Girls Camp, Boys Camp and a Tikanga Marae Camp. Volunteers are always needed and appreciated and fun and yummy food is always guaranteed. Hanging out with teenagers can actually be really chill especially when you do activities such as swimming, paintball, archery, mountain biking, high ropes courses eating food and lots of other activities.

The Hornby Youth Hangout, at 8a Wycola Ave, is a place for young people to come after school and chill out. We believe that by meeting youth where they are at in a chill environment grows good connections and relationships. Having volunteers for Hangout is what makes this programme amazing. We would love to have you come and join us in 2023 and hangout and play games with youth who come hangout with older role models.

This year the Hornby Hangout is open twice a week after school – Wednesday for year 7/8s & Thursday for year 9-13 students. We need volunteers to help out at our youth hangout from 3-5pm on Wednesday and Thursdays.
